â Founded in 1959 by Gulf Oil and a group of Bolivian families, Santa Cruz Cooperative School (SCCS) was originally established to serve the children of Gulf Oil Company personnel. In 1970, SCCS became the cooperative it is today.
The school is located in Santa Cruz, the most populated and fastest-growing city in Bolivia, with approximately 1,606,671 inhabitants. SCCS is a private, coeducational day school offering a rigorous college preparatory program that leads to both American and Bolivian high school diplomas. Its curriculum is aligned with the Common Core and NGSS Standards. The language of instruction is English, except for foreign language courses offered to students from PKâ12th grade.
The SCCS student body is 85% Bolivian, 10% U.S. citizens, and 5% from other nationalities, with 11% holding dual citizenship. The current enrollment is 697 students.â
