Kathy Murphy received her BA in English and Drama at Rhodes University, South Africa. After working in advertising for several years, Kathy moved to Dubai for a few years while her husband was Creative Director of McCann Erickson there. She loved her time there and enjoyed the cultural mix of people she met. She later became a video editor, editing many award-winning commercials over 25 years and raising three daughters. Kathy moved to California in 2014.
Lindsay AegerterCurriculum Consultant
Lindsay Pentolfe Aegerter received her Ph.D. from the University of Washington, where she specialized in Postcolonial and Diaspora Literature, Modernism and Women's Literature, and the Short Story as genre. Her doctoral dissertation was on African Women's Literature. A tenured associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in literature, composition, and creative writing. She returned to Seattle, Washington to teach at the Lakeside School, where she created and taught such courses as African American Literature, Multiethnic Literature of the US, Modernism and the Harlem Renaissance, Shakespeare, and Fiction Writing. Lindsay recently retired from Lakeside after 25 years.
